Hi guys. So today I'm going to post about the real life in matriculation. For those who are made to matriculations, congrats to all of you. Your life is going to be fine. Yup I am truly honest. Before I write about rules & regulations, I will share a bit of my life story in KMS.
So, matriculation students will only go through 2 semesters. I will say semester 1 is a lot tougher compare to semester 2 because in second semester you are already get used to the surrounding and study environment. My class starts at 8 am and end up at 5 pm. Minus 2 hours of break. However, the schedule will change in second semester. My timetable is pack with lectures, tutorials and lab sessions.
Okay now let's talk about homework and assignments. Since I am from module 1, I have to complete 3 lab reports every week. Tutorials work is depend on the lecturer itself. Usually, lectures will not give any assignments to you but I am not promise because some lecturers are so strict. Matriculation syllabus is not that tough. The only thing that makes life hard is the time. Time is gold. There is no time to play around. All you have to do is focus and complete your work. Since you have no time to do a lot of revisions, I advice
you to complete all your work and understand well especially in lecture. This is because you will have no time at all to do revisions when you have full of assignments and lab reports that needs to be done. Sometimes there will be extra class which also depends on the lecturer but usually there will be lots of extra classes in second semester.

About outings, I don't know about other matriculations but in KMS, outings are very strict. There is a lot of procedures that you need to follow.
- You cannot go out with jeans.
- You have to swap your matric card whenever you go out.
- Boys and girls have their on specific day to go outings. Means that there is no way boys and girls can go outing in the same day.
- Students can go for outings on specific weekend only. Yes, not every weekend.
- Students have to be in KMS before 7 pm and can go out at 8 am.
- Students cannot go for "balik bermalam" every weekend too. Balik bermalam is balik tidur bermalam di rumah.
So, that's a little bit of "briefing" for you guys before you enter KMS haha. If you have any questions please leave a comment. Hope you are not in shock when reading this. Life in matriculation is not like what people says. Trust me, if you manage your time well and stay focus, I am sure there will be no problem at all.

DeleteMatriculation system does offer Science stream and accounting stream but you have to take add math in secondary school baru boleh masuk matrik.
Hi i nk tanya pasal the dress code fr students during lectures and also when in the campus(especially fr non-muslims), and also abt the extra curiculum activities and hw it is done arnd there. thank u very mch. this blog post is really very useful.
ReplyDeleteHi! For muslims, we have to wear baju kurung (for girls) and kemeja (for boys). For non muslims, you can wear kemeja and slack. But some matriculations allow their non muslim girls to wear skirt, it depends. For cocuriculum, they provide the tshirt. Cocuriculum is for only one semester. If you already have cocuriculum in semester one, you will not be involve in cocuriculum for semester two.

Hi there. Hm as far as I know, tak boleh. You have to take add math to enter matriculation.

DeleteYou're welcome. Not hard at all. Not like spm. But you have an oral test which you have to memorise surah and baca depan ustaz/ustazah.

ReplyDeleteHi, laptop is not necessary. Sebab tak pakai sangat pun. Dekat sini ada solat berjemaah, but it depends on korang nak pergi ke tak. Selalunya ada je dekat surau.

ReplyDeleteIt depends on matric tau. Kalau dekat KMS, toilet dia okay la. Each floor ada dua toilet yang besar. Satu toilet tu maybe ada 6 ke 5 tah tempat shower, toilet bowl and sink.

Delete1) Normally we don't use textbook. We only use lecture notes from the website. So you just have to print out the notes and tutorial. But certain subjects use tutorial book. So you need to ask your lecturer. Untuk buku secondhand, kalau dkt KMS normally senior yang dah habis belajar tu akan sedekahkan dekat bilik study setiap blok. So bila bukak sem untuk student baru, diorang ambil dari situ. For kedai buku, ada je jual extra books for your reference.
2) This one you have to refer to your lecturer. Normally lecturer will explain what you need to buy and use for the whole semester.
3) Yes, it is crucial to wear lab coat. Kalau tak, tak boleh buat experiment. You will be given a lab coat time hari pendaftaran. Lab coat ni dah termasuk yuran belajar.

DeleteYes, its the same. But kurang 2 hours of lab je. Sebab each subject mcm phys, chem and bio ada lab. Kalau tak amik bio means takde lab bio so 2 hours kurang dri modul 1.

DeleteTahniah! Aah lebih kurang je but belajar lagi detail and ada topic yg kita tak pernah belajar time spm. Tapi overall memang lebih kurang dengan spm. satu sem belajar 5 bulan. Hmm biasanya dalam beberapa minggu je kot tu tak ingat dah haha tapi tak lama pun. Kalau ada hal emergency, kena pegi dekat hal ehwal pelajar and kena buat surat. Kalau diluluskan, baru boleh cuti.

Delete1. Spm tak semestinya tentukan result in matrik awak bagus ke tak. Ada je kwn akak time spm banyak dpt C+ but in matrik dia dekan. It depends on you, kalau cara awak belajar okay semua then inshaallah boleh dpt result bagus.
2. Module 2 akak tak berapa pasti sgt. Tapi each batch lain2 brpa org yg dapat 4flat.
3. Ada, and thats me! hahaha

ReplyDeleteHi, it depends on the lecturer. And it is not compulsory to buy reference book for each subject. Semua refer to lecture notes je. But if you nak further understanding, boleh beli buku. Dekat kooperasi pun ada jual. You're welcome!

Hello, Dayana! I'm an Indian SBP student from SM Sains Tuanku Munawir (SASER) and I would like to ask a few questions:
ReplyDelete1) Can we pick who we want to be as roommates cause' I have friends who will be enrolling at KMS as well and I want to be in the same room as them, so is it possible?
2) Are the lecturers strict, or can we joke around with them?
3) Do the lecturers practice favoritism?
4) Will there be 'lights off', since I was in SASER and they had that hahah
5) When the Muslims have their prayers, where will us non-Muslims go?
6) Can parents visit on the weekends?
So far, these are the only questions I have, and I hope that you don't mind answering them hahaha... But, kudos to you on your 2 blogs relating your experience at KMS, it really helped me know what I'm gonna face there! So, anyways, thank you! :)

2) Some of them are strict, and some of them are very friendly and funny. If you take Biology, Mr. Cornelius is the best lecturer.
3) I don't think so.
4) Haha they say that you must switch off the light at 12, but actually nah.
5) Non muslims are free go anywhere. Usually when there is a one hour break, muslims will perform prayer and have lunch right after that. So non muslims will have extra time to go eat lol.
6) Yes, definitely. Parents need to have car sticker to enter matriks.
